Fiber Splicer will be responsible for the terminating, splicing, bonding/grounding, documenting, and testing of all fiber optic cables. Aerial & underground splicing and cable installation. Ability to properly terminate fiber cable. Knowledge on fiber-optic networks and terms such as GPON, FTTH, FTTB, etc. Ability to properly create and install cables. Neatly label all enclosures. Ability to perform all component and system testing. Employee will learn to read and interpret splice matrices/prints. Employee will perform skilled troubleshooting and perform other duties as assigned.
Also:
Some bucket truck work
Taking down and hanging enclosures
Taping down cables
Mounting underground enclosures
Able to drive truck while towing a trailer
DOT physical required
Must be ok with working weekends
Complete and pass both Drug Test & Background Check
Must be willing to work outside in the elements (heat, rain, cold, snow)
8-12 hour days.
Some overtime is mandatory. The overtime rate is time and a half.
Must work well in a fast-paced environment
Able to lift 75lbs
Able to climb ladder
Comfortable using hand tools
Traffic direction (at times)

Previous telecom experience required.
