Job Title : Consumer Loan Processor I, II and III

Department : Consumer Lending

Reports To : Consumer Lending Manager

Salary Grade(s) : 7,8,9

In office position with the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule after your probationary period.

Function :

Supports the lending fulfillment function in Consumer Lending. Process applications, evaluate documentation and finalize loans to meet Members lending needs.

Represents the Credit Union to new and existing Members and identifies cross sell opportunities.

Position Requirements :

  • GENERAL :
  • Consumer loan application processing experience preferred
  • General knowledge of lending terms / calculations preferred
  • Experience in a production / time management-based environment preferred
  • EXPERIENCE : 1-3 years experience preferred
  • EDUCATION : High school diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred : College degree

Duties : Loan Processor I

Loan Processor I

  • Assists Loan Origination and Underwriting in completing loan applications. Reviews applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Processes loan applications including document retrieval, validation of information, and preparation for lending decision.
  • Finalize and disburses loan proceeds. Guide Members thru settlement process and review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review, process and finalize Auto Express Checks and Auto Site Drafts.
  • Work pipeline of active consumer loan applications.
  • Assists in the achievement of Loan Department and Credit Union Strategic Plan Goals.
  • Supports record retention in scanning and storing of Credit Union documents.
  • Corresponds with Members to obtain required documentation to process and fund loans.
  • Answers staff and member inquiries concerning pending applications via phone, email, or any other acceptable contact avenues.
  • Maintains production, quality, and service standards for lending.
  • May perform open / close / balance tasks as required for lending.
  • May perform file maintenance of data on existing accounts.

Loan Processor II

  • Performs all duties listed under Loan Processor I.
  • Identifies cross sell opportunities of Credit Union products and services to existing Members.
  • Assists in training and development of Loan Department and Branch Personnel regarding the lending process.
  • Advises staff of First Financial policies and procedures and interprets same as necessary.
  • Research Member lending questions / discrepancies and performs necessary adjustments.

Loan Processor III

  • Performs all duties listed under Loan Processor I and II.
  • Evaluates current Loan Department procedures and makes recommendations to Consumer Fulfillment Manager to improve workflow.
  • Assists Consumer Fulfillment Manager in processing employee and other sensitive loan applications.
  • Create and direct staff training and oversee testing of products / procedures.
  • Assign work and oversee processing to assist Consumer Fulfillment Manager in meeting production, quality, and service standards.
  • Resolve issues with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy, which involves contact with others inside and outside the Credit Union.
  • Apply analytical skills, judgment, and ingenuity to make decisions within the scope of standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other related duties of similar scope and complexity.
  • Adheres to regulations and organizational policies, maintaining awareness and knowledge required to perform the duties of the position including all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Lending, and Information Security.
