Industrial Transfer & Storage is Hiring a FABRICATION FOREMAN Near Southbridge, MA
Job Description Fabrication/Welding Foreman will supervise 5-10 team members in all aspects of metal fabrication and welding. Maintain high levels of production and quality standards while maintaining the safety of our employees. Will oversee several workstations that include heavy operating equipment and plasma tables.
The Fabrication Foreman will lead by example and communicate between the Industrial Transfer & Storage (ITS) and Accurate Metal Sales & Fabrication (ACC) management teams.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Report to the assigned Vice President and Director Of Operations
- Responsible for production/planning/quality and safety in the fabrication shop and in the field as needed
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of work to ensure progress meets quality, cost, and production schedules
- Responsible for maintaining a safety culture that is aligned with all local State & Federal guidelines as well as the ITS and ACC safety-related policies.
- Daily mentoring and guidance, maintaining a high level of professionalism
- Discuss daily goals and schedules to ensure the team understands workload demands and timelines
- Work closely with the Director of Operations on any incident investigations and enforce policies and procedures as directed by management
- Responsible for timekeeping of projects and personnel in the fab shop
- Report damaged equipment immediately to the Director Of Operations and the Facilities Manager
- Training and development of fab shop employees
- Minimum of 5 years of fabrication/welding and Supervisory experience
- Knowledge of Industry standard welding codes of AWS, etc.
- Blueprint and weld symbol comprehension
- Structural steel fitting experience
- Ability to manage multiple production demands at any given time
- Operational knowledge of material handling/rigging and overhead crane activities
- Effective communication skills with management and staff
- Maintain a zero-injury work goal
- Ability to remain resilient and make last-minute changes as needed to support production demands
- Must possess great customer service skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, squat, kneel, and stoop
- Able to push, pull, and lift varied weights
- Climb ladders and stairs
- Operate welding equipment and various power equipment
- Fully articulating shoulders, elbows, hands, and wrists
- Able to work in various climate conditions
- Able to work in various working conditions
- Able to work in enclosed and confined spaces which at times requires the use of respiratory equipment
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. as needed
- Must have a valid driver's license
- 9-10 hour workdays M-F as needed
- Day shift with the possibility of weekend overtime work
