St. Joe County Public Library is Hiring a Graphic Designer Near South Bend, IN

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Graphic Designer with a robust background in both digital and print media. This role involves enhancing our library's visual and educational outreach through creative and effective graphic designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce a variety of graphics and multimedia content that aligns with the library's brand standards.

  • Collaborate with the Communications Team to brainstorm and implement strategic design concepts for marketing campaigns and community engagement initiatives.

  • Manage projects from concept through completion, ensuring a cohesive visual style across all materials and platforms.

  • Uphold and champion the library’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through thoughtful and inclusive design practices.



Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, or a closely related field.

  • At least 3 years of professional graphic design experience, with a strong portfolio featuring diverse projects.

  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), WordPress, and Canva.

  • Preferred: Experience in multimedia design and animation, and professional photography skills.



Required Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of print and digital production.

  • Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Capable of working collaboratively in a team-focused environment and managing several projects under tight deadlines.

  • Highly creative, with a flexible approach to designing for various media and target audiences.

What You Will Do:

  • Create innovative visual concepts that inspire, educate, and engage the community.

  • Design compelling digital and print media including library promotional materials, signage, direct mail, periodicals, and online content.

  • Participate in planning and executing strategic campaigns, from developing concepts to managing the final outputs.

  • Stay updated with graphic design trends to keep the library’s branding current and effective.



Work Hours:

  • Normal workweek is 40 hours, with occasional evenings or weekends required for special events.


Wages:

Starting/Hiring Range: $19.43 - $24.29, Hourly

Total Salary Range: $19.43 - $29.15, Hourly
