The Payroll Clerk on a contract basis will be responsible for various tasks related to payroll administration, compliance, and record-keeping. This role requires strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.Payroll Processing:Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees.Calculate and process employee wages, deductions, and adjustments.Ensure accurate and timely distribution of paychecks or electronic transfers.Compliance and Record Keeping:Stay updated on relevant labor laws and tax regulations.Maintain accurate records of employee information, tax withholdings, and other payroll-related data.Prepare and submit payroll-related reports as required.Communication and Support:Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.Collaborate with HR and other departments to resolve payroll-related issues.Assist in the implementation and improvement of payroll processes.Auditing and Reconciliation:Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy in payroll data.Reconcile payroll discrepancies and make necessary corrections.Collaborate with finance to ensure accurate accounting of payroll transactions.
