Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during procedures, taking X-rays, maintaining infection control protocols, and ensuring patient comfort. Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Take and develop X-rays as directed by the dentist
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems (Epic, Eaglesoft)
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Perform basic medical coding for dental procedures
- Conduct patient assessments and record vital signs
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program
- Current certification in Dental Assisting (CAD) preferred
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Proficiency in taking dental X-rays and operating X-ray equipment
- Familiarity with dental software system DENTRIX
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
