International Buyer

Company Overview:
Global supplier of welding, assembly, material handling and testing equipment for both automotive and non-automotive customers. Focuses on delivering cost effective highly engineered products and systems that can be designed and manufactured globally with localized sales, project management and service.

Position Summary:

• Assists the Global Supply Chain Manager in managing the daily office functions of the Purchasing Department.
• Responsible to prioritize their daily activities to reflect the objectives set forth by management.
• Responsible for compliance with all established administrative and quality procedures as outlined by executive management. (i.e.: QS-9000TE, ISO, Made-2-Manage, etc.)
• Responsible to remain current with established purchasing practices and attend any training as requested by management.
• Responsible for the organization, storage, and retrieval of Purchasing Department data (both printed and electronic) and the effective and timely communication with all other departments concerning this data.
• Reviews costs with vendors on a routine basis to assure best value for money spent .
• Investigates and audits suppliers relative to their capabilities, capacity, quality, price, delivery reliability, financial status, etc.
• Creates purchase orders in ERP system.
• Establishes guidelines for current supplier base to assure compliance to Company's strategic objectives and establishes long term partnerships.
• Follows-up with errant suppliers and makes recommendations to Global Supply Chain Manager as to best way to correct any unresolved issues.
• Assists the Sales Department in the development of customer quotations by obtaining outside quotes for goods and services.

Prerequisites:
Educational: High School Diploma required
Bachelor's Degree in Business or other related field highly preferred.
Experience: 3 years as Buyer in an automation environment highly preferred.
Experience in Machining or other technical area is highly desired.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
