SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT is Hiring a Facilities Manager Near Seymour, CT

SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the entire facility, including production equipment, building maintenance, and grounds upkeep by performing the following functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Other duties may be assigned.
  • Manages the Facility Technicians, Maintenance Technicians, and Custodians.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all production equipment, including scheduling required preventative maintenance. Specific familiarity with our equipment is a plus for this position.
  • Manages repairs and implements improvements to buildings and grounds.
  • Plans major facility changes and improvements and oversees implementation.
  • Monitors equipment log/records and takes corrective action on deficiencies
  • Initiates contact with equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Interfaces with contractors while on site.
  • Manages the Janitorial staff to ensure that all facilities are properly cleaned.
  • Manages the safety program and conducts appropriate classes to educate all employees on safety issues.
  • Is the key interface to State and Local municipalities regarding Local Facility Regulations, OSHA, etc.
  • Prepares Project Plans for high dollar value or extended time projects for Management Review
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Directly supervises employees in daily activities.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities by the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The person must have excellent presentation skills and the ability to work across many levels within the organization.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 2 years post-high school technical school education. A 4-year college degree preferred with 5-10 years directly related experience or training;
  • Excellent mechanical ability and experience in the use of hand tools, blueprints, and schematics.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to read and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS – Desired
  • Certification as a Facilities Manager desirable (IFMA, ICPM)
  • OSHA Safety Certificate or familiarity with OSHA regulations and standards for facilities
  • Environmental Health and Safety certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Employees must have the capability to work in small areas and have the dexterity to handle integrated parts
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
