What is Private Duty Nursing?
Private Duty Nursing involves providing one-on-one care in the home for individuals with specialized healthcare needs that require continuous hourly nursing care, up to 16 hours per day.
Responsibilities Of Private Duty Nurses
- Delivering personalized care and fostering patient interaction
- Conducting vital signs and physical assessments
- Administering medications and treatments as per physician's instructions
- Documenting the patient's ongoing condition
- Possibility of managing G-tubes, trachs, and vent care
- Specialized one-on-one training
- Training for trachs, ventilators, and G-tubes
- Access to 24/7 support staff
