Rio Grande Foot & Ankle Specialists is looking for an energetic individual to join our Santa Fe clinic team! We currently have 3 podiatric physicians providing foot and ankle care to New Mexico residents. We are looking for a medical assistant that is eager to learn and to help our staff provide extraordinary patient care. Experience is a bonus, but we will provide FULL on-the-job training. The current available position is full time (40 hours per week).
Responsibilities for the position include:
-Welcoming and greeting all patients and visitors with a pleasant demeanor
-Registering new patients and updating existing patient files
-Preparing patients for examinations
-Assisting with x-ray positioning and labeling
-Applying and removing casts and wound care dressings
-Fitting patients for DME (Durable Medical Equipment: boots, braces, shoes, etc.)
-Assisting with minor surgical procedures
-Completing the patient encounter: checking patients out after their visit, scheduling appointments, and collecting payments
-Scanning and sorting medical documents
-Messaging clinical staff as needed based on patient or outside physician inquiries
-Screening patients and visitors
-Cleaning clinic and patient areas
-Facilitating patient flow by notifying the clinical staff of each patient's arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
-Travel between Santa Fe and Los Alamos offices; additional travel is compensated when required.

Hours:
-Monday-Friday 7:45am to 5:30pm are the current full clinic days. We offer extended hours to patients on Mondays in Santa Fe, so closing time those days is 6:30 or 7pm.
-Full-time position schedule involves staggering hours with other employees based on the needs of the clinic, up to 40 hours.
Compensation:
-Pay: $14.00 - $16.50 per hour
-Pay rate may be negotiable based on experience
-Health benefits and paid time off are available after a 90 day trial period for full-time positions
This position is available to begin training immediately.
