Job Description

The Authorization Specialist position is responsible for coordinating, processing and obtaining authorizations to ensure efficient insurance claims submissions and statement processing for services and / or medications rendered by Ridley-Tree Cancer Center, Sansum Clinic, Cottage Hospital, or affiliates.

The Specialist position requires familiarity of the necessary steps and actions needed to provide patients access to high cost treatments, scans, tests, or medications.

The position frequently entails treatment / medication estimates, financial counseling, and order / RX management. Strong diplomatic verbal and written communication skills are essential for the effectiveness of this position as it collaborates with clinical and administrative stakeholders.
