FUNCTION: Clear Construction is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. As the Controller, you will play a vital role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, and compliance with industry regulations. This position requires strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial and income statements, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and comprehensive financial reports for management and stakeholders.
• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Monitor and analyze budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor cash balances and forecasts, providing strategic plans for cash flow management.
• Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and track performance against budgeted targets.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
• Monitor compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Manage the accounting team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
• Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of audit processes.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required
• Minimum of two years of experience using Sage Intacct accounting software
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience
• Proven experience as a Controller or similar role within the construction industry.
• Expert knowledge of MS Office
• A proven track record as a controller or senior finance executive in a construction or related industry is preferred
• Strong knowledge of financial planning, accounting principles, and financial analysis
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Work on-site in the office full-time. A remote opportunity is not available for this position.
• Excellent oral communication skills, exemplified by a clear and professional manner of speaking

OTHER SKILLS

• Experience with Procore construction software is preferred
• Capable of working with minimal oversight
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and duties simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail
