JOB DESCRIPTION
The Hotel Houseman will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas. The successful candidate will ensure the hotel meets all health and safety standards, while also providing exceptional customer service to guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Washes all soiled linens, towels, napkins, tablecloths, or other assigned items and ensures they are properly ironed, folded and stocked according to department procedures and standards to exceed guest satisfaction
- Maintains cleanliness of the laundry room
- Reports damage, mechanical deficiencies, suspicious activities or theft
- Removes and sorts dirty linens and towels from laundry carts
- Washes and dries all linens, towels, rags, etc., as directed by management
- Learns, understands and follows the proper operation of washing machines, dryers, other equipment and use of chemicals
- Cleans dryer filters daily (or more frequently as needed) and maintains all equipment as trained and instructed

- Must demonstrate a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
- Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to a high level of guest satisfaction.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This is a physically demanding position. You must be comfortable standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, squatting, stretching, and pushing for extended periods of time.
- Lifting 40 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, seeing, feeling.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures like laundry rooms ( 110°F), possibly for one hour or more.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- This position will require little to no travel outside the property and surrounding areas.

Pay: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour
