Hiring for a Billing Specialist in San Francisco, CA!

Schedule : M-F 8-5 PM

Pay : $27.52 / hr

Location : On-site in Mission District!

Responsibilities :

• Codes information about procedures / diagnosis and keys charge information into the practice management system.
• Assists with coding and error resolution. Conducts coding reviews with providers regarding coding guidelines.
• Identifies and resolves patient billing complaints or inquiries via phone.
• Researches, corrects, and tracks denials and claim rejections. Appeals unpaid and denied claims as necessary. Researches and provides accurate coding for rejected claims.
• Monitors reimbursement of payers on a continuous basis and identifies changes in reimbursement patterns.
• Performs collections on outstanding accounts by contacting patients and other third-party payers by phone and written correspondence.

Follows and reports status of delinquent accounts.

• Responds to correspondence from payers and follows up on requests for information.
• Conducts periodic medical record audits to ensure documentation is consistent with billing.
• Monitors charges for correct payment of claims and capitation deductions.
• Researches and resolves claim, payment, and capitation problems.
• Processes paper claims, including secondary insurance as necessary.
• Prepares, reviews, and sends patient statements.

Must Have Skills :

• 3-5 years of Medical billing experience
• EPIC experience
