Cathedral School for Boys is Hiring a Middle School Science Teacher (Part-Time) Near San Francisco, CA
- Plan, teach, and evaluate students in fifth-grade science (the anticipated teaching assignment will be 2 sections, each with about 15 students).
- Collaborate with members of the K-8 science team to refine the curriculum, evaluate students, monitor the efficacy of the program, and make placement decisions for leveled classes.
- Serve as a co-advisor to 12-13 students, a role that includes partnering with other advisors to design and deliver advisory content in academic skills, social-emotional learning, and cultural humility.
- Serve as a supervisor for various student activities and events such as outdoor education trips, chapel service and assemblies, field trips, recess, and lunch.
- Communicate with parents of students and advisees both formally (through progress reports, report cards, and conferences) and informally (through emails and phone calls as needed).
- Overtly support and act in accordance with the School’s mission and values
- Attend and positively participate in all faculty meetings and professional training
- Work collaboratively with all faculty, staff, families, and school partners
- Uphold professional standards of personal presentation, punctuality, professional courtesy, and discretion
- Appropriately carry out specific responsibilities as designated by the division (e.g., duties)
- Honor the confidentiality of school and student information
