Burke's is an independent K-8 gender-inclusive all-girls' school located on a 3.5-acre campus in San Francisco. Burke's is one of California's leading elementary schools with a 115-year tradition of educational excellence.

Position Description

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS (ON CALL)

SCHOOL YEAR 2023-2024

Substitute teachers provide classroom support for grades K-8. They must be flexible and willing to take on last minute duties as needed.

Substitute teachers sometimes have sole responsibility for a classroom; sometimes they share the duties with another teacher.

Responsibilities

Actively engage with students in classroom activities

Use effective classroom management strategies

Implement lesson plans as needed

Use technology as needed

Maintain the tidiness of the classroom

Requirements

• Relevant teaching experience working in a school setting
• TB Test (the school will reimburse any costs)
• Fingerprinting (the school covers the costs)

Benefits

The school pays $27.50 per hour with a four (4) hour guarantee any day a substitute works, and hourly after four (4) hours.
