The Assembly Technician will produce magnetic bearing assemblies and subassemblies, high speed electric motors and drive panels as well as other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Maintain a safe working environment and a commitment to safety excellence.
• Understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and instructions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals, and environmental well-being.
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
• Utilize hand tools, epoxies, and adhesives to produce electro-mechanical subassemblies and assemblies according to verbal direction, work instructions and schematics.
• Use machines and resources to perform various tasks such as heating, pressing and balancing parts and assemblies.
• Ability to strip, crimp, solder and terminate wires per Synchrony and industry standards.
• Perform electrical testing on components, subassemblies and assemblies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements below are the minimum requirements an employee needs to fulfill this position. They are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required for the position.
EDUCATION
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience• Minimum of one year assembly experience in a light industrial setting is preferred.
Language
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Skills
• Must be able to read, understand and follow assembly instructions, blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Must be able to use hand tools such as screwdriver, pliers, etc..
• Must be able to operate small lifts, pallet jacks and other lifting equipment.
• Basic computer skills, including email, Excel, and Word.
Physical Demands
• Must be able to work with various epoxies without allergic reaction.
• Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move material per Synchrony lifting standards.
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and
ability to adjust focus.
• Must not have issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical
parts, heated mechanical parts, adhesive fumes, airborne particles, and energized electrical systems.
Moderate noise levels are present for limited periods of time. Appropriate PPE will be supplied.
