For 55 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota has been creating meaningful, professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships between Bigs (adult mentors) and Littles (local youth) in a five-county service area – and has been recognized both nationally and at the local level for its growth and innovative approach to mentoring. Big Brothers Big Sisters strives to help all youth achieve their full potential: 97% of youth surveyed improved their academic performance during their time in the program, and 95% reported increased confidence. The Advancement Director supports this important work.
Position Description: The Advancement Director is responsible for overseeing all fund development and supporting the Executive Director in creating an annual plan to increase voluntary revenue. There is no cost to be a part of BBBS for the mentors or mentees, so the Advancement Director plays a critical role at the agency in ensuring that the funds are available to support each match and grow our services as the need for mentors increases in Central Minnesota. The systems are in place for the next Advancement Director to take the agency’s fundraising to the next level. This position will oversee corporate and individual giving, agency fundraising events, donor stewardship and the database system. It also supervises the agency’s Advancement Team, which includes the Database Associate, Marketing & Communications Specialist, Grants & Communications Manager, and Donor Engagement Coordinator. The Advancement Director also plays a key role on the agency’s leadership team, which makes high-level decisions to keep the agency moving forward.
