Under the general supervision of the Assistant Finance Director, or designee. Performs responsible professional accounting work in preparing and maintaining City fiscal records in the Finance Department. Work is performed with considerable independent judgment and initiative in accordance with City codes and Departmental policies, procedures, and accounting techniques. Work is reviewed through conferences, reports, audits, and internal controls.

Performs internal payroll audits and reconciliations; complies with all local, state and federal payroll reports; associated activities as required.

Interfaces and reconciles daily cash receipts using a computerized accounting system. Resolves discrepancies. Interfaces with RecTrac cash batches and reconciles to control documents.

Reviews monthly bank reconciliations and bank activity.

Serves as Finance grant liaison.

Assist with inventory adjustments and reporting.

Assist with monthly and year-end budget tasks and budget reporting.

Maintains accounting controls and financial records; makes recommendations to supervisor.

Prepares monthly standard journal entries with supporting documents; prepares non-standard journal entries as required.

Assists in year-end closing and audit reports; supplies supporting documents.

Prepares and maintains statements, records and reports as necessary.

Performs other duties as assigned.
