ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Concrete Batch Plant Operator is responsible for mixing the concrete used in the production of all precast
concrete manufactured at the facility. Batch Plant Operator is also in charge of maintenance and upkeep of the
automated Batch Plant and other related equipment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Communicate and coordinate with Supervisors, Crew Leaders, Laborers, Yardmen, Drivers, Q.C.
Technician, etc.
· Operate computerized batch plant.
· Cleaning concrete mixer and all other components of the batch plant. I.E.: Batch Room, Chutes,
Conveyors, etc.
· Maintaining all aspects of the Batch Plant. I.E. Greasing Joints, Checking Airlines, Checking Regulators,
Checking Air Valves, Checking Oil Levels, etc.
· Operate Forklifts.
· Operate Overhead Crane.
· Fill out daily reports.
· Calculate volumes and yardage of concrete products.
· Perform general math to check water/cement rations.
· Perform daily moisture readings on aggregates.
· Pump cement from tankers to silos.
· Perform inventory checks for materials.
· Adhere to PCP and NPCA QC Manual for Plant Certification Program
· Other duties assigned by supervisors.
· Help on with production when required
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Applicant shall have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the precast or concrete construction industry. Applicant shall have High School Diploma or G.E.D. PREFERRED SKILLS · Strong written and oral communication skills. · Ability to operate a computer. · Strong math skills. · Ability to manage conflicts. · Ability to lift 75 lbs throughout work day. · Ability to manage multiple projects at one time. · Ability to solve problems. · Strong leadership skills. · Ability to obtain industry certifications through classes and testing. REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT All production employees will be provided with safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats and safety vests. They are required to be worn at all times (hearing protection only when necessary). Additionally, production employees are required to provide their own steel toed work boots which must be worn at all times. ADDITIONAL NOTES Panhandle Concrete Products is a precast concrete production facility located in Scottsbluff, NE. We produce a wide variety of precast concrete products. These products are delivered throughout the Midwest to Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado, South Dakota, North Dakota, Kansas, and anywhere requested. PROBATIONARY PERIOD All employees will undergo a 90 day probationary period. Any employee can be released from employment by PCP at any time during this period. At the completion of the 90 day probation, the employee will be reviewed. After the performance review, the employee will be officially hired or let go.
