OVERVIEW

Provide clinical services to adults with qualifying mental health diagnoses under the supervision of the Better Life Inc Clinical Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Under the supervision of the Better Life Inc , mental health practitioners will develop, implement and update appropriate treatment plan for each adult as required

2. Coordinate care, services, and treatment with the client’s expanded support team (e.g., family, social worker)

3. Provide and/or coordinate assessments and collect data to monitor progress of clients on caseload

4. Provide other services including group education, transition to living skills, coping strategy treatments, and other treatment modalities that fit within practitioner-level mental health rehabilitation.

5. Practitioners participate in conferences, seminars, and other educational opportunities to apply newly gained knowledge to clients.

Abilities:

1. Complete a treatment plan at least every 180 days for each ARMHS client and authorized and signed by the Clinical Director

2. Complete a Functional Assessment at least every 180 days for each ARMHS client and authorized and signed by the Clinical Director

3. Complete an individual progress note at the time of each service rendered to an ARMHS client and authorized and signed by the Clinical Director

4. Review, with direction from the Better Life Inc Clinical Director, the rehabilitative thread between DA, LOCUS, Functional Assessment, and Treatment Plan.

5. Provide comprehensive rehabilitative treatment to individuals receiving ARMHS at Better Life Inc

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. "Mental health practitioner" means a person providing services to persons with mental illness who is qualified in at least one of the following ways:

(1) holds a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university and:

(i) has at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness;

(ii) is fluent in the non-English language of the ethnic group to which at least 50 percent of the practitioner's clients belong, completes 40 hours of training in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness, and receives clinical supervision from a mental health professional at least once a week until the requirement of 2,000 hours of supervised experience is met; or

(iii) is working in a day treatment program under section 245.4712, subdivision 2;

(2) has at least 6,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness;

(3) is a graduate student in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields and is formally assigned by an accredited college or university to an agency or facility for clinical training; or

(4) holds a master's or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university and has less than 4,000 hours post-master's experience in the treatment of mental illness.

2. Experience with adults with mental health diagnoses.

3. Demonstrated respect for and sensitivity to family and cultural issues.

4. Ability to accurately observe and document behavior of adults.

5. Strong communication and collaboration skills with peers and other professionals.

6. Must have the physical health and stamina to work on a consistent basis with adults who may have special needs.

7. Ability to achieve and maintain status of “not disqualified” upon completion of criminal background studies.

8. Maintains valid driver’s license.
