Logan County Animal Care and Control in Russellville, KY is looking for one front of house person to join our team. We are located on 1230 Morgantown Rd.. Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, and able to give vaccines to dogs. Must be able to pass drug screening. This a PT position with FT possibilities in the future. Hours are 10am to 4pm 4 days per week, including weekends

Responsibilities

*Oversee new animal intake processing: weights, temps, microchip scan, vaccines and overall check of each animal for condition or medical conditions. *Oversee the administration of necessary vaccinations and microchip insertions along with de-worming, de-fleeing and ear checks (cleaning if necessary) of each animal in care of the shelter. *Give direction for medical regimens as appropriate and in consultation with partner veterinarian. Ensure medications are given as appropriate. *Maintain medication records for each animal. Assure proper dosing and records of medications given. *Consult approved veterinarians on medical issues and concerns. *Transport animals to and from the vet clinic for as needed, or coordinate transportation with other staff and volunteers. *Provide email, in-person, and telephone support for adopters with questions related to medical and behavioral care of their fostered or adopted pets. *Assist clients with animal visitations and inform them of all known medical and behavior issues. *Answer phones, return messages, and direct calls to appropriate department *Maintain cleanliness of lobby and upstairs work area *Assist Director with daily paperwork *Assist with our Petfinder and Pet manager programs *Assist with Facebook and other social media platforms

Qualifications

*Experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter or related business operation a plus. *Basic knowledge of Shelter Medicine as opposed to standard Veterinary Medicine. *Experience with giving vaccines to dogs. *Must enjoy working with dogs. *Able to follow oral and written instructions. *Able to humanely handle animals under various circumstances. *Able to work harmoniously with other employees. *Able to lift and properly handle medium and large size dogs. *Must be courteous and friendly with clients and the general public. *Must have Basic Computer knowledge
