Kadon Precision Machining is Hiring a Quality Technician Near Rockford, IL

Kadon is a family-owned precision machining company located in Rockford, Illinois. We specialize in high precision turning and milling of exotic steels, brass, copper, aluminum, and plastics. Our modern plant is clean, bright with year-round temperature control.

Position Summary:

This position is essential for ensuring our customers always receive the highest quality parts. The Quality Technician spends most of their day on the manufacturing floor performing visual inspections of parts moving between machines and departments documenting quality checks. You will be responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our company products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. You may also be required to maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvement. Calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and other types of measuring equipment will be used daily.

Duties

  • Verifies that manufactured and purchased parts conform to engineering specifications and drawings
  • Use Quality equipment like mics, calipers, pins, CMM (ect)
  • Mark up manufactured parts for finish machining operations as required by the manufacturing routing
  • Inspecting production lots according to quality and safety standards
  • Ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly
  • Collecting data and completing quality reports.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of mathematical concepts
  • High-level of visual awareness
  • Familiar with Excel
  • Advanced organizational skills
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical information

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
