The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, implementing and maintaining the company's accounting principles, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and forecasts.
2. Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timeliness, and accuracy.
3. Manage the general ledger, conduct reconciliations, and account analysis.
4. Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal government accounting and tax regulations.
5. Oversee the preparation of tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.
6. Collaborate closely with internal departments like procurement, production, and sales to ensure accurate financial reporting.
7. Assist with developing and implementing improvements to budgeting and forecasting processes.
8. Participate in implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures, including documentation.
9. Train and mentor junior accounting staff.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required, while a Master’s degree or a CPA certification is a plus.
2. Proven experience in manufacturing accounting.
3. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial accounting systems.
4. Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel, and accounting software.
5. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and decision-making ability.
7. Ability to work independently, while also operating as a part of a team.
8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
9. Ability to meet strict deadlines.
