Position Summary:

This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, production and tracking of all advertising for ilani, as well as directing the property publicity programs to targeted audiences incorporating all forms of communication to maintain the support of consumers, stockholders, and the general public.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes superior guest service.
  • Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, scheduling evaluating and counseling of the Advertising and Public Relations staff.
  • Manages agency relations.
  • Interfaces with all advertising agencies regarding media plans, media purchases, media deadlines and approvals, schedules, billing, and trafficking.
  • Acts as a liaison between tour management and ilani regarding on-sale date, ad plans, radio promotions, meet and greets, day of events, routing, billing, etc.
  • Responsible for developing, organizing, and executing meet and greets, radio promotions and special events for artists.
  • Understands the attitudes and concerns of the community, consumer, team members, and public interest groups and maintains cooperative relationships with them and representatives from print, broadcast, and digital media.
  • Observes social, economic, and political trends that might affect the company, and makes recommendations to enhance the firm’s image based on those trends.
  • Observes progress in interactive Public Relations and continuously develops new ways of harnessing the power of advocacy utilizing every element of building relationships.
  • Develops, executes, and evaluates strategic action plans that identify situation analysis, goal, objective, strategy, and tactics.
  • Oversees online creative on local sites for entertainment and promotions.
  • Plans and directs integrated public relations and interactive Public Relations programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image.
  • Manages inventory of logos, ad Mats, photos, and other related materials and implements brand guidelines.
  • Manages the production and implementation of all internal and external advertising departments.
  • Develops communication and messaging strategies.
  • Reviews proposals and plans and provides recommendation to supervisors based on analysis of costs, potential exposure, value of opportunity to other areas, impact of labor and other key factors.
  • Interacts directly with senior management.
  • Edits and seeks final approval of public relations materials.
  • Oversees the advertising budget, billing, and financial reports.
  • Implements sponsorship requests and special ticket purchases and requests.
  • Assists with annual budget planning.
  • Achieves integrated collaboration between Advertising, Public Relations, Internet Marketing, and Social Media.
  • Plans and manages promotional activities and special events, including radio broadcasts and casting calls.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, plus three (3) years of supervisory experience within an advertising department or advertising and public relations agency, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
  • Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
  • Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an Advertising & Public Relations role in a highly complex environment preferred.
