MARKETING & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (Full Time)
JOB SUMMARY:
Under direction of Managing Director or designee, implement marketing and development programs in support of the Charles W. Eisemann Center and “Eisemann Center Presents.” Plan and coordinate ongoing and overlapping public relations initiatives. Identify and cultivate donor base and recognition programs. Supervise volunteers, part-time employees, contractors, and internship programs. Perform other related work as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Marketing: Initiate marketing plans in support of Eisemann Center presentations and events, development programs, and services to the community. Coordinate design and development of materials including brochures, newsletters, displays, programs, web site content updates, e-mail marketing and other traditional and emerging forms of promotion. Serve as website administrator for www.eisemanncenter.com. Administer ad campaigns; plan, implement and evaluate marketing and advertising programs directed towards increasing earned income for the Eisemann Center. Administer cooperative marketing initiatives with client base of local arts organizations. Assist in cultivating and retaining media partnerships and other promotional relationships. Coordinate activities and donor programs associated with “Eisemann Educates” under the “Eisemann Center Presents” banner.
Development: Design and implement development and fund-raising programs as needed, including a “Friends” membership program, a “Seat Naming” campaign, and an endowment fund. Solicit event sponsorships. Develop and cultivate individual and corporate donor programs, including matching gift programs. Maintain files for, and assist the Board of Directors with, administering the Eisemann Center Foundation. Research funding sources and write grant proposals on an annual basis. Prepare and submit status reports on campaigns, and maintain accounting records for each. Develop and implement marketing strategies and materials in support of approved campaigns and programs. Initiate and maintain effective relationships with established donor base. Cultivate new donor prospects.
General: Submit for approval and administer annual expenditure and revenue generation budgets in support of marketing and development related programs. Communicate courteously and effectively with other employees, officials, vendors, contractors, user groups, and the public. Supervise part-time employees and contractors, as needed. Develop and supervise volunteer and internship programs to assist in carrying out job functions. Use computer for e-mail, and various word processing, graphics, and data manipulation software programs, sitting for long periods of time. Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) for various facility events when required, including nights and weekends.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
May serve as spokesperson for the Eisemann Center in Managing Director’s absence. May assist with setup of special events as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONS, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES, AND/OR LICENSES:
Bachelor’s degree required in Arts, Business, Administration, Finance, Marketing, Public Relations or related fields.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:
Three years of experience required in fields directly related to managing development and fund-raising campaigns or the marketing and coordination of special events. Must be computer literate and proficient in various word processing, graphics, and data manipulation software programs, with ability to use them for development of professional presentations for marketing purposes. Familiarity with Tessitura ticketing software preferred. Ability to use a digital camera and photo-shop software preferred. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to make effective public presentations. Must be skilled in coordination, negotiation, and community interaction. Must be able to work effectively in team environment, maintaining effective working relationships with others. Must be self-starter, and able to work effectively without constant close supervision. Knowledge of, or experience with, cultural arts facilities and/or nonprofit agencies and associations preferred.
