AidKit, Inc. is Hiring a Remote Director of Marketing and Communications

Overview

We are looking for a trailblazing Director of Marketing and Communications to join our team. If you have a proven track record of launching and scaling a new marketing function at a startup and are passionate about using technology to advance social good, then please, keep reading!

About AidKit

AidKit is a social impact startup born from the pandemic that aims to 10x the leverage of organizations and governments helping people in need. Today, we run some of the largest direct cash programs in the country. Looking forward, we aim to be the platform for delivering assistance to anyone, anywhere, efficiently, at scale, and with dignity. We got our start as volunteers delivering relief to undocumented workers left behind amidst the early days of COVID and have since grown into a fully bootstrapped platform that has disbursed over $215 million directly into hard-to-reach communities. We are a team of almost 32 and we’re profitable.

About the Role

AidKit is at a pivotal moment in our company's journey, and we are eager to find the right person to help drive our next phase of growth. As we explore new industry verticals and expand our product and professional services, we need a dynamic leader who can seamlessly integrate with our partnership team and leadership. This role demands someone who can quickly understand our current landscape and strategically guide us into the future. Flexibility is key, as we are a small team launching a new marketing function. You'll be pitching innovative marketing strategies to our CEO one moment, and rolling up your sleeves to implement them the next. Imagine a typical day where you're engaging with a national coalition on narrative change in the direct cash space, creating impactful collateral for a government human services conference, and simultaneously spearheading a co-marketing campaign with a platform partner. If you thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and are ready to make a tangible impact, we want to hear from you.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving our Overall Marketing Strategy
  • Conducting Market Research and Synthesizing into Actionable Insights
  • Leading Partner Co-Marketing Efforts (webinars, white papers, etc.)
  • Managing and Growing our Social Media Presence
  • Content Creation Including:
  • Case Studies and Customer Testimonials
  • Press Releases
  • Blog Posts
  • AidKit Newsletter
  • Sales Collateral
  • Thought Leadership Content
  • Product Marketing Material
  • Creating Visual Designs for Content and/or Managing Subcontractors to Execute
  • Maintaining and Updating the AidKit Website
  • Conference and Awards Management

About You

We are looking for someone who is….

  • A skilled storyteller, who understands that building trust is integral to crafting compelling content.
  • Experienced in brand and/or product marketing, with 7 years of progressive functional leadership experience.
  • Tech-enabled, with a deep understanding of AI, ML and advanced analytics and reporting platforms as well as more traditional marketing and asset creation tools like HubSpot, Figma, InVision, Webflow, Adobe, etc.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of personal accountability.
  • Deeply caring about the mission of direct aid and supporting anyone who needs help, no matter where they come from.
  • An excellent communicator, both in spoken and written form.
  • Comfortable with design, a keen eye for aesthetic details who can manage limited graphic design tasks in house and oversee a third-party design contractor as needed.
  • Data-driven - you will be asked to set clear KPIs and report regularly against them.
