Description

Etalon Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician 2 to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology with a focus on DNA extractions and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) library preparations. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to work with small volumes, and proficiency with various lab equipment and protocols.

• Execute standard molecular biology protocols, including DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and NGS library preparation.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as electronic and manual multichannel pipettes, centrifuges, thermal cyclers, vortex mixers, and dry baths.
• Manage sample inventory and processing, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and organization.
• Summarize experimental data into presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with research teams to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
• Perform quality control on laboratory processes and outcomes to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability.
• Transport samples as needed, adhering to all safety and handling protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field highly preferred.
• At least 1-2 year of post-graduate wet lab experience with a focus on DNA extractions and NGS library preparations.
• Demonstrated experience working with small volumes and following lengthy protocols.
• Proficiency with electronic and manual multichannel pipettes, centrifuges, thermal cyclers, vortex mixers, and dry baths.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain high focus during repetitive tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of self-motivation and integrity.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Valid Class C driving license.
• A love and knowledge of horses is a plus!

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for long intervals during laboratory work.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and accuracy.
