Do you have a passion for helping students develop essential life skills in a supportive and engaging environment? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you to join our team as a Summer Special Education Teacher in Reading, Pennsylvania!

Location : Reading, Pennsylvania

Duration : June 24th to August 1st (excluding July 4th)

Hours : 8 : 30 AM to 12 : 00 PM (Monday to Thursday)

As a Summer Special Education Teacher you will :

• Provide engaging and interactive instruction to students with diverse learning needs in a small group setting.
• Focus on developing essential life skills, such as communication, socialization, self-care, and independent living skills.
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
• Collaborate with support staff and families to ensure the individual needs of each student are met effectively.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the unique learning styles and abilities of your students.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction and interventions as needed to promote growth and success.
• Foster independence and self-confidence in your students, empowering them to become active and engaged members of their community.

Qualifications :

• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Special Education (or eligible for certification).
• Previous experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a life skills support program.
• Strong understanding of best practices in special education instruction, including behavior management techniques and individualized instruction.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
