Tymus Beverly, PLLC is an award-winning, boutique law firm with one focus: family law. We are building a team of rock-stars and are looking for a dynamic family law attorney that is ready willing and able to advocate on behalf of clients, impress Judges, and make their mark in the area of family law. The ideal candidate will have family law experience and must be fiercely passionate about representing clients facing some of the most challenging times in their lives. We operate a client-centered law firm where we place a high value on client communication and satisfaction, professionalism in our interactions with the Court and other members of the Bar, community involvement, and sustained growth. We place a high value on the ability to handle trials and hearings in a professional manner as it relates to preparation, skill, and courtroom decorum. The ideal candidate has a working knowledge of North Carolina family law as it relates to initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support, child custody, and equitable distribution. The candidate must also be able to handle high conflict cases and effectively communicate and empathize with individuals with varying personality types. What you don’t know, we can teach you, but you have to be willing to learn, be open to both accolades and constructive criticism and be able to work both independently and as a team. Responsibilities:

  • Handle cases from inception through trial
  • Conduct informative initial consultations
  • Draft, finalize and customize pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents
  • Supervise and delegate work to paralegals and other team members
  • Participate in firm meetings and care about the growth and development of the firm
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, mediations, and depositions
  • Communicate with opposing counsel, court personnel, and others in a professional and respectful manner while advocating for clients
  • Deliver excellent customer service
  • Able to practice family law from a modern approach
  • Comfortable with handling a high volume of cases
  • Highly developed organizational ability
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail including grammar and spelling
  • Team player as well as a self-directed individual
  • Positive attitude, adaptable, and open-minded
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership
  • Desire to succeed and help others
  • Efficient and effective
  • Handle matters in Wake and Durham and potentially travel to surrounding Counties
  • Proficient with timekeeping and keeping written track of billable hours
  • Working knowledge of MS Office 365, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Tech-savvy and able to learn and utilize our law office practice management software (Practice Panther) and other intra-office software
  • Existing knowledge or willingness to expand knowledge to handle wills, trusts, and estates a plus.

Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina
  • Graduated from an accredited law school
  • Experience with family law and an intent to remain in this area of practice
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NC Family Law (Chapter 50), the NC Rules of Civil Procedure and the NC Rules of Evidence
  • Working knowledge of Local Rules for Family Court in Wake and Durham Counties a plus
