Description

TARGAN is a mission-driven company focusing on creating a more sustainable food supply, improving animal health, and eliminating disease to solve for a greater purpose in ending world hunger. The day-to-day tasks of the Assembly Technician include working with a variety of tools and machinery to make or repair parts, components, sub-assemblies, and complete systems. The ability to comprehend and follow detailed verbal or written instructions, as well as diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documents is a critical part of the position. Assemblers must have an aptitude for mechanics and an eye for detail. The Assembly Technician ensures that all parts and products under their care are in proper working order and meet the quality standards of the company and industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Use tools to make or repair parts, components, assemblies, and systems
  • Install electrical and electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies
  • Interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, or other verbal or written instructions
  • Work with other technicians to assemble products
  • Keep a clean and tidy workspace
  • Identify any defective items and handle them according to established procedures
  • Ability to use reason to solve problems as they arise

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • 1-3 years experience as an Assembly Technician or similar role
  • High school diploma and related training is preferred

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good eye-hand coordination to construct small parts and pieces into a final product
  • Ability to use various hand tools to produce a final product
  • Ability to follow instructions and diagrams as delivered for each product
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment as well as independently with little supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
  • Ability to adhere to TARGAN and industry best practice safety requirements
  • Attention to detail
  • Must have good eyesight, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to differentiate between colors

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

The employee is required to stand and/or sit while performing repetitive tasks for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
