Racine Habitat for Humanity is Hiring a Construction Admin Assistant Near Racine, WI

Construction Administrative Assistant- PT

Overview

We’re a team of difference-makers who want to do meaningful work. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working to keep things running smoothly while demonstrating a positive attitude and initiative daily. 

This position is responsible for supporting the Construction Department at Racine Habitat for Humanity. This position performs clerical duties, coordinates information and project flow, communicates with vendors, and completes tasks as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Previous knowledge of construction is preferred, with at least one year of administrative experience
  • Knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft, Google, Excel) as well as office equipment operations
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities daily
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills, including the ability to anticipate tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines
  • Function smoothly under strict deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Self-motivated and with the ability to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Collect data and manage spreadsheets
  • Assist with project management tasks for each construction project
  • Manage the construction calendar
  • Follow up with contractors regarding schedules 
  • Distribute Requests for Proposals to sub-contractors 
  • Collect construction invoices, waivers, and other documents and file them as necessary
  • Administrative management of employees in the construction department
  • Seek opportunities to improve core processes
  • Interact with volunteers, staff members, and vendors in a professional, friendly, courteous, and collaborative manner
  • Answer all telephone calls and emails regarding construction
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of all office equipment and communication
  • Assist the Construction Manager with various activities and programs as directed

Schedule: Part-Time, 20-25 hours a week, M-F

Benefits: Paid time off and Retirement Plan

Reports to: Construction Manager 

Compensation: $17 to $19 /hour
