Stephens is Hiring an Armed security officer Near Roland, AR

This position is designated as a safety and security sensitive position pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act and is subject to drug and alcohol testing.

This position follows a Panama shift schedule and will work the 4 : 00 pm - 4 : 00 am shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Control access points to Stephens property to prevent unauthorized entry and illegal removal of assets. Make positive eye contact with each person and acknowledge them as they enter the property, issue a polite verbal greeting and assist with questions, directions, and issue a polite verbal farewell as individuals depart the property.

NOTE : a security officer is often the very first and very last impression an employee, guest, tenant or visitor will have of our company it is critical that you present a professional, capable and friendly image as people both arrive and depart our facilities.

Patrol, both foot and mobile, Stephens locations to prevent unauthorized access, unauthorized / illegal activities such as security violations, thefts, pilferage, acts of vandalism, misconduct, etc.

  • Challenge unauthorized persons found on Stephens property.
  • Monitor closed circuit television system to oversee safety, security, and traffic on Stephens property. Operate, monitor and maintain all other safety and security systems.
  • Maintain constant alert for suspicious activity / individuals / vehicles / etc., safety hazards or incidents and takes action to correct related problems;

issues citations for parking violations and tow vehicles as deemed necessary.

  • Intercede as necessary in physical disturbances or to prevent property removal or damage. Subdue individuals when necessary.
  • Communicate with all employees to increase their security awareness regarding corporate policy and procedure regarding safety and security.
  • Respond to emergency / non-emergency situations and provide backup support to other security units in a timely manner.

Assist victims of offenses. Provide or request other services as needed (i.e. police, fire, ambulance, towing service, etc.)

  • Assist persons who are incapacitated due to an emergency situation. Provide first-aid services if necessary. Transport persons to other locations as necessary in responding to an emergency.
  • Assist law enforcement officers as necessary.
  • Conduct building surveys / security audits to ensure the safety and security of Stephens employees, tenants, and property.
  • Write reports concerning security activities. Communicate information by radio, telephone etc. Process and update records (electronic and written) pertaining to security activities requiring appropriate documentation and record retention.
  • Coordinate and record the issuance and retrieval of equipment / supplies; issuance & retrieval of access cards; visitor, tenant and employee clearance; etc.
  • Armed Officer positions are eligible for consideration as Long Gun Operator, Special Response Team, Special Response Team Leadership and / or vehicle patrol operations.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE

  • 2 year Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent
  • 2 years of full-time related experience in law enforcement, emergency management, military or corporate security
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Current valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles. A DUI / DWI conviction or pending charge may be a disqualifying factor for this position.
  • Must have or qualify for a current Arkansas Armed Security Officer Commission (CSO).
  • Employee must maintain current active status of all required licenses and must carry the license at all times while on duty.
  • CPR / AED and Basic First Aid

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 21 years of age, bondable and meet all minimum requirements in the state of Arkansas as it pertains to private security officers.
  • Required to carry firearms with assigned duties and has the authority to use such weapons as needed, in accordance with internal security policy and all applicable local, state and federal laws.
  • Must not have a formal discipline within the previous six-month period and must have a recommendation letter from current supervisor.
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer / pre-employment drug / alcohol test

PHYSICAL ABILITY

Physical stamina in all of its forms is a basic requirement of this position. This position requires initial training that involves strenuous physical activity such as running, sprinting, stooping, kneeling, laying down, climbing stairs, etc.

  • Climb stairs or ramps in pursuit or in emergency
  • Sit, stand and walk for at least 2 hours
  • Lift and / or move up to 75 pounds unassisted
  • Constant use of both hands and arms to reach / handle / grasp, use phone, write reports, and perform other administrative tasks
  • Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors;

Starting Annual Salary for this Position : $ 40,000.00
