Moraine Preservation Fund is Hiring a Non-Profit Operations Manager Near Portersville, PA

Overview:

Moraine Preservation Fund, a leading non-profit company that operates within and assists Moraine State Park, has an immediate need for a full-time Operations Manager to support the ongoing dedication to preserving and promoting all that the park has to offer. The Moraine Preservation Fund runs the Owlet Gift Shop, Preston’s Pearl Tour Boat in Moraine State Park and coordinates volunteer events within the park, aiming to enhance visitor experiences while supporting conservation efforts.

Position Details:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for day-to-day oversight throughout the year and during the peak season, this person will manage the operation of the Owlet Gift Shop and the Preston Pearl tour boat within the park. The ideal candidate will be passionate about environmental conservation and community engagement, with strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the gift shop, including inventory management, purchasing, merchandising, and customer service.
  • Schedule and manage seasonal employees.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers for various park activities and events.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue, enhance visitor engagement, and promote the mission of the organization.
  • Collaborate with park staff, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivator with strong communication and marketing skills including use of social media.
  • Ability to lead and manage seasonal employees.
  • Ability to work on some weekends during peak season.
  • Past experience in operations management or similar role.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including volunteers, staff, and visitors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media
