Essential Functions, Duties, And ResponsibilitiesTasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
- Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
- Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems and performing warranty services.
- Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
- Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
- Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Complying with service standards, work instructions, and customers' requirements.
- Assisting with customers' queries.
- Valid Driver's License.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be a licensed HVAC Technician with at least 3 years of experience.
- Associate degree in HVAC (Preferred).
- HVAC License
- Standard practices of the HVAC and refrigeration trade.
- Theory of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Materials, methods, and tools used to operate and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- The applicable building codes, ordinances, and regulations of State and local authorities regarding HVAC and refrigeration.
- Air compressors and pneumatic controls.
- Cooling tower and water treatment.
- Manual and electrical tools and equipment applicable to the HVAC and refrigeration trade.
- Welding and soldering techniques.
- Health and safety regulations.
- Basic record-keeping techniques.
- Proper methods of storing equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Cooperation/Teamwork—Works harmoniously and builds a positive team spirit while working with others to get a job done; responds positively to instructions and procedures.
- Oral/Written Communication—Expresses oneself clearly in conversation and business writing. Listens and gets clarification while following work instructions. Responds well to questions. Uses grammatically correct, concrete, specific language.

- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights up to 75 lbs.
- Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
- Operate various hand and power tools, a welder torch, a vacuum pump, test equipment utilized in the trade, and a motor vehicle; maintain equipment in effective and safe working condition; maintain parts and tool inventory.
- Evaluation after 90 days of employment.
- Annual Performance Review.
