Pasco Kids First is Hiring a Bookkeeper Near Port Richey, FL

The Bookkeeper is a key part of our finance department and is responsible for receiving,
processing, and verifying invoices related to accounts receivables and payables. They process
payments and reconcile all expenses. They are responsible for processing payroll via Paylocity,
and ensuring that employees are compensated on time, and that their hours and benefits are
correct. The Bookkeeper is analytical and methodical, proficient, accurate, and efficient
working with accounting software and excel spreadsheets. They are good with numbers,
organized, are dead-line driven, detail oriented and can be trusted with sensitive information.

Pasco Kids First, Inc. was launched in 1989 to keep kids safe and strengthen families through
the assessment and treatment of child abuse and neglect. The agency is the Children’s
Advocacy Center (CAC) for Pasco county operating both Child Protection and Trauma Therapy
teams as well as the Healthy Families program which serves both Pasco and Hernando counties.
PKF is an accredited member of the National Children’s Alliance. The organization currently has
over 40 employees, and a budget surpassing 3 million dollars. More information can be found

Overview of Position

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll data in Paylocity software in accordance with operating
    procedures, ensuring payrolls are processed efficiently, effectively, accurately, and are
    paid on time. Ensure total timesheet hour accuracy.
  • Enter payroll processed data into accounting software/general ledger, ensuring
    allocations are coded to appropriate funder accounts. Run funder specific payroll
    reports to support monthly billing/invoices and save to appropriate funder billing
    backup documentation folders (create monthly folders when necessary).
  • Approve payment of Mutual of America (MOA) retirement, enter payroll retirement
    activity in the accounting software/ general ledger, and maintain employee retirement
    fund activity reporting, i.e., loans, withdrawals, outside documentation requests.
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording
    accounts payable data and process outgoing payments in compliance with financial
    policies and procedures.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly
    vendor invoices and/or statements.
  • Keep track of and on top of credit card purchases and receipts and paying and
    reconciling monthly statements.
  • Generate reports for supervisor detailing accounts payables and bank account balance
    status.
  • Support and work with Grants and Contracts Compliance Manager on processing
    monthly expenditures, invoices, reports, renewals, and budget matters.
  • Approve via Paylocity employee mileage and reimbursement expense reports as
    needed. Check for accuracy, compliance, and post in general ledger.
  • Responsible for accounts payable filing needs – virtual and hard copy.
  • Perform additional accounting and reporting projects when necessary as well as office
    functions such as serving as a backup for answering phones.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Two-year accounting degree; four-year preferred.
  • Significant experience in similar role; familiarity with accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel and accounting software such as FundEZ.
  • Exceptional time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor, strong work ethic and ethical code.
  • Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive.

Additional Position Information

This position is based in our New Port Richey office but hybrid (office/remote) work could be
considered. Salary Range: $38,500 – $41,000 and is based on candidate experience. Please
