We are looking to hire a meticulous Senior Accountant based in PORT HURON, Michigan. This role involves handling complex financial tasks, ensuring our company's financial administration runs smoothly and is compliant with all relevant laws and regulations. The Senior Accountant will be integral to our financial reporting, consolidation, budgeting, account reconciliations, and auditing processes.Responsibilities:• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports• Manage account reconciliations and ledgers• Coordinate internal and external audits, and manage tax audits and tax returns• Implement efficient processes for financial reporting and ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of all accounting tasks• Support the preparation of the annual budget• Adjust spending estimates based on expenditure changes and cost projections• Monitor effective internal controls in the financial reporting function to minimize business and financial risk• Comply with financial standards and regulations (e.g. GAAP)• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies• Partner with other departments to streamline processes and maintain accurate reporting• Utilize skills such as Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, Analyze Variance, Cost Variance, and Costing.
