Duties And Responsibilities
- Must have the ability to look at a dispatch board that could have 70-130 open job tickets at a time and build out a morning and afternoon schedule for over 23 service technicians
- Need to identify and prioritize emergencies from regularly scheduled service jobs
- Ability to think quickly yet logically to handle the dynamic scheduling process
- Must have working knowledge of commercial trucking routes and online mapping skills
- Take incoming customer calls on the weekends and after-hours
- Schedule and coordinate all service calls as calls are received
- Create dispatch tickets for all service calls on weekends and after-hours
- Dispatch Service Technicians, one call at a time
- Dispatch Service Technicians from their home to first call
- Debrief Service Technicians after completion of each call (if necessary)
- Respond to all messages left overnight
- Maintain the dispatch board/schedule
- Contact customers with ETA if a technician is running late
- Forward the list of parts needed by technicians and arrange delivery of parts to the location.
- Prepare paperwork for all Field Supervisors
- Maintain service reports and logs.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Two years related experience and/or training in customer service, dispatching, or project management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or other employees in the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variations in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsOTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:Advanced customer service skills. Ability to multi-task, Organized, Geographical knowledge of service area or map reading skills, Knowledge of industry is recommended but not required, Computer skills and ability to work in multiple applications in a fast-paced environment.
