The is seeking a full-time Communications and Development Coordinator to join our team and help us create and implement a robust communications plan and support our development efforts.
The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and executing both internal and external communications strategies, with an emphasis on building deeper connections to Black-, Brown-, Indigenous-, Immigrant-, POC-led businesses, organizations, and individuals.
NOTE: We are primarily seeking a communications professional who can also assist with fundraising/development. This person will work alongside our Executive Director, receiving training and support, to implement development activities.

Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field and/or comparable experience
- 2 years of experience in developing and implementing communications strategies
- Experience working with and within communities of color
- Openness to learn and develop food system expertise
- Proficient in social media platforms
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
Preferred
- 1 years of experience with fundraising and development (e.g. grant writing, individual donor campaigns, etc)
- Knowledge of food systems or related field
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Experience with Canva, Action-Network, AirTable, Google Workplace, Slack and Squarespace, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn and/or similar programs.
Compensation: $58,000, plus health care premium reimbursement, 401K match, life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance.
Location: Hybrid.Must live in Allegheny County. We are a part of a co-working space in East Liberty. Typical hours include: 9-5pm Monday to Friday, with 2-5 days per week in the office. Pick which days! Also, must host and attend in-person and hybrid meetings at co-working spaces or community-based sites.
Schedule: The work schedule is 37.5 hours per week (30 min break/day). The work schedule can at times be greater than that depending on what is happening that week (e.g. helping to host our Annual Food Summit) and includes evening and weekend meetings and events, as necessary. Comp time is also provided to offset these hours. Travel is occasionally required (e.g. conferences, rallies, events). Funding is provided for travel when it is required for work.
