Overview: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. This is a rewarding role that requires patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others. Responsibilities: - Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or autism - Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting - Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and guidelines - Prepare meals and assist with meal planning based on dietary needs and preferences - Support individuals in participating in recreational activities and community outings - Assist with transportation to appointments, errands, or social engagements - Document individual progress, behaviors, and any incidents or concerns - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, therapists, and case managers - Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times Requirements: - Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred - Ability to lift and transfer individuals using proper body mechanics and assistive devices as needed - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members - Ability to follow care plans and implement strategies for behavior management - Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for transporting individuals (if applicable) - High school diploma or equivalent education required; additional certifications or training in related fields is a plus Note: All positions must be paid including internship positions.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
