- Works under the direction and guidance of the Emergency Preparedness Planner.
- Demonstrates creativity and resourcefulness in recommending solutions to problems and challenges.
- Assures proper execution of duties of the Security Guards.
- Provides exceptional customer service and ensures the same standards are upheld for all Security Guards.
- Oversees and coordinates the work of Security Guards.
- Coordinates Security Guard scheduling.
- Maintains data entry daily logs and other recordkeeping for the department.
- Responds to emergency calls, works with local law enforcement as necessary, and completes detailed reports following the incident/interactions.
- Greets and welcomes incoming visitors to campus and provides information in a professional courteous manner.
- Patrols assigned areas of campus on foot, checking for fire or safety hazards, vandalism, maintenance issues, suspicious activity and persons.
- Follows established procedures and guidelines to maintain the safety and security of the university's employees, students, visitors, and property.
- Recommends, develops, and implements new procedures when needed.
- Provides and coordinates initial and on-going training to Security Guards.
- Assures Security Guard compliance with all applicable University policies, department Standard Operating Procedures, and state and federal law.
- Assists in validating accurate staff time reporting.
- Investigates incidents that occur on campus as needed or directed.
