School Social Worker for 2024 - 2025 school year
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in School Social Work
- License as a School Social Worker in the State of Michigan
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports and Applied Behavior Analysis
- Provide social work services to preK-12th grade students in a school setting
- Write accurate, concise, evaluation reports based on the analysis of assessment data
- Write goals that are highly appropriate to the situation and age of the student
- Coordinate highly coherent service plans
- Facilitate functional behavior assessments
- Model and coach to support the implementation of positive behavior support plans
- Interpret assessment findings and relate them to educational performance and needs
- Consult with teachers, instructional aides and parents to implement intervention
strategies and techniques
- Establish and maintain lines of productive and respectful communication between and among staff
- Establish meaningful relationships with students in order to support service delivery
- Participate in child study meetings
- Work collaboratively cross-disciplinary to provide cohesive and aligned supports and services
- Collaborate with community agencies such as the Heath Department of Northwest Michigan and Community Mental Health
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required of position
