Summary: The Employment Specialist will assess individuals on career options and assist and train individuals on paid on-site contract work as well as off-site employment opportunities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with Employment Manager regarding Individual Service Plans.
  • Implements an individualized program, based on each person's needs in accordance with their Individual Service Plan.
  • Maintain data on designated objectives per the Individual Service Plan.
  • Administer, tabulate and interpret work related assessments to determine each person's career choices.
  • Participate in job site tours.
  • Assist in evaluating each individual's job performance semi-annually.
  • Assist with upkeep and maintenance of the program, follow cleaning schedule, report any maintenance issues.
  • Maintain all appropriate certifications including FA/CPR and PABC.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience
  • One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience with contract work, and off site employment helpful.
Required Skills/Knowledge
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles of normalization, behavior management and human rights
  • Valid driver's license and one year of driving experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to climb stairs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • The employee must be able to drive a vehicle.
  • Must have a normal range of eyesight with or without corrective lenses.
  • Must have a normal range of hearing with or without corrective equipment.
