Qualifications
·Must have active Rhode Island RN license
·MUST have MDS/RAI experience
·Must have experience with Point Click Care/EMR
·Must have knowledge of state and federal regulations as they relate to long term care nursing reimbursement
·Must have a Bachelors degree in Nursing
Must have the ability to complete accurate and timely assessments
Knowledge of ICD 10 Coding preferred
Job Description:
·The MDS Coordinator- Registered Nurse will oversee and facilitate the completion of resident assessments in accordance with Federal and State regulations
·The MDS Coordinator- Registered Nurse will establish assessment schedules and ensure that assessments are done in an accurate and timely manner
·The MDS Coordinator- Registered Nurse is responsible for transmitting assessments to the State of Rhode Island, Department of Health
·The MDS Coordinator- Registered Nurse will coordinate resident care plans in accordance to regulatory requirements, ensuring that resident care is delivered effectively
·The MDS Coordinator- Registered Nurse will initiate Medicare coverage for newly qualified residents and sending denial letters when necessary
·The MDS Coordinator- Registered Nurse will remain updated on changes in Medicare coverage and help determine documents necessary for reimbursement.
