Summer Program (SP) Facilitator

Jubilee oversees the community-building arm of this work, nurtures safe, resilient neighborhoods that increase the well-being and capacity of residents to serve the common good.

Jubilee's current work centers in the Tierra Vida community in Pasco, Washington.

Under the direct supervision of the Community Relations Manager and in collaboration with the Rec Center Coordinator, Rec Center Assistant, and Youth Program Facilitator, the Summer Program Facilitator is responsible for creating and helping implement a variety of programs in the areas of the Arts, Health and Life Skills, Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Sports, Fitness, and Recreation.

Facilitators visibly enjoy working with children and create an environment that is safe and fun while helping members build confidence and skills.

The facilitator fosters positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community members. This is a full-time, hourly position at $17.

00 / hour comprised of work hours from 7 : 30 am - 4 : 00 pm, Monday to Friday, including meal and personal breaks. School breaks may require a schedule change.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities :

• Create a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment for children in the Tierra Vida Community Summer Program; recognize & appropriately respond to all hazards & emergencies
• Assist with the preparation of materials, equipment, and field trips for Summer Program instructional activities
• Plan and lead group activities such as tutoring, arts and crafts, and science projects where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
• Work with Community Relations Manager and Rec Center Coordinator to create a schedule of activities
• Maintain confidentiality regarding school / workplace matters
• Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
• Participate in cross-training activities as required
• Report to supervisor with students or parents' concerns
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A passion or calling to work with children and adults
• Work cooperatively with others as a team
• Participate in daily set up and clean up
• Be energetic, creative, reliable, and mature
• Previous experience working with youth in a professional setting.
• Must be a great role model and example for all participants, staff members and guests.
• Must be knowledgeable with creating and presenting projects with reading, math, science, arts, and craft projects.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a full background check.
