Coastal Tides Surgical Center is Hiring a Business Office Manager Near Panama, FL

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise and direct all business office functions to maximize the quality of care and financial performance of RHSC. Is directly responsible for the revenue cycle management, ensuring all insurance is timely verified, cases coded, claims submitted, adjustments posted and payments received and remaining balances billed according to policy. The BOM is directly responsible for Section 13 of our Policy and Procedures Manual – Financial P&Ps. Other accounting and administrative responsibilities are detailed below. The BOM works daily along with the Nurse Managers to efficiently and safely manage RHSC.

Job Skills and Requirements:

· Supervises and directs all reception and admitting personnel. Responsible for all regulatory requirements being met in the admitting area including after-hours telephone message, rights of patients, advance directives, privacy statements and signatures, and various others as required by our P&P.

· Ensures that all third party payors verification is completed within time frames required and all copays and deductibles are collected prior to surgery.

· Oversight of the surgery scheduling processes and personnel. Works directly with the manager of Surgical Services to properly schedule our cases, and scheduling only from our Approved Procedures List, with attention to block times for surgeons and approval from the OR manager that the case can be safely and adequately performed.

· Supervises and directs all medical records personnel. Conducts 100% chart audits for administrative needs as identified by the NM of Pre-Op/PACU and our Policies. Ensures that medical records are handled in as efficient manner as possible – OP notes on time and signed, etc.

· Supervises and directs all accounts payable activities and is ultimately responsible to the financial operation manager to ensure that all invoices have the proper documentation attached, price has been verified on the PO and packing slip supports the payment. Should the payment be for a contracted service, BOM assures that the contracted payment agrees with the terms of the contract. Prepares and posts all recurring monthly journal entries and produces the Financial Statements.

· Works directly with the Perioperative NM and the OR NM to provide costs for each surgical case using HST preference cards. Works as the liaison with our patient accounting system, HST to provide training sessions as needed for optimal use of the system.

· Supervises and directs all CPT coding, charge entry, adjustment entry and payment posting and daily balancing of the patient accounting system. Assures that all regulatory requirements are met and all charges and adjustments are proper and approved. Bills according to our contracts to optimize our revenues – implants, devices, etc.

· Responsible for the collection policies and procedures and that A/R is maintained according to required percentages.

· Handles all administrative contracts, equipment and supplies – telephone system, computer network, postage machine, etc.

· Responsible for the Human Resource Department, PTO accruals, payroll, orientation documentation and employee files. Works directly with the Perioperative NM who is responsible that all clinical HR requirements are satisfied.
