A great opportunity for a Utility Clerk in the Ozark area to obtain customer payments and post to accounts, resolve customer issues, and make quick decisions.
This position requires prior cash handling experience.
Pay will start at $14.00 per hour and will work a Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm schedule.
Responsibilities :
Answers questions and processes requests regarding municipal services via phone or in person.
Receive payments by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers or negotiable instruments for deposits on new accounts and payment of bills.
Receive payments for various services offered through different departments and issue receipts of payments to customers.
Answer customer questions and provide information on procedures or policies.
Checks and balances cash and negotiable instruments against receipts and register tapes on a daily basis.
Type form letters, maintain records or compose lists.
Initiates work orders for connects and disconnects
Follow-up with necessary paperwork, calculates fees and charges.
Assists in all billing department functions, as necessary. Utilizes a computer in all aspects of work.
Maintain a clean and orderly customer service area.
Qualifications :
Ability to add, subtract, multiple or divide quickly and correctly
Ability to process and count cash efficiently
Be able to make sound judgements in making decisions that follow polices and procedures
Problem Solver
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a position where you are collecting payments or working in a clerical accounting or office setting
Computer Savvy
Previous teller experience is a plus
