RESPONSIBLE TO: Building Engineer
FUNCTION: To assist the Purchasing Agent with ordering, supplying, delivering, organizing, and unloading supplies/items to maintain adequate supply levels as developed by the Purchasing Agent.
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Count and deliver briefs to all areas of the facility that are designated. Remove cardboard daily to the outside cardboard refuse container or when cardboard cart becomes full.
2. Order medical supplies and syringes and deliver to all areas.
Store medical supplies in storage rooms in designated drawers.
Deliver syringes to each nurse on the unit. Syringes must be signed for by the nurse or nurse manager only or the syringes are to be returned to pharmacy storage until signed for by appropriate personnel.
3. Deliver office supplies to all departments.
4. Organize, clean and label all of the following areas: pharmacy storage room, clean utility room, work room, brief storage room and central supply room. Also supply carts/cabinets on all units.
5. All “request for department supplies” forms must be returned to the Purchasing Agent at the end of each day. These forms must be signed and dated.
6. Ensure that an adequate amount of supplies, equipment, etc. in maintained at all times.
7. Compare purchase orders, packing slips, etc. with incoming merchandise to ensure accuracy. Once completed, forward to Purchasing Agent.
8. Correspond with vendors regarding damaged merchandise or errors in shipment.
9. Ensure inventory is updated as required when receiving/issuing supplies and equipment.
10. Refer all non-standard and unusual problems or the Purchasing Agent or Building Engineer.
11. When necessary, other responsibilities as required by Purchasing Agent, Building Engineer and/or Administrator.
12. Other related duties that may become necessary or as directed by the Supervisor, Department Head and/or Administrator.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Subject to frequent interruptions.
2. Subject to hot/cold temperatures in storage areas.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. See attached physical job description.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be a high school graduate or GED.
2. Must possess basic knowledge of mathematic skills.
3. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
4. Ability to communicate with medical staff, nursing personnel and other department supervisors and staff to foster a good working relationship with all departments.
5. Ability to work beyond scheduled working hours.
6. Existing employees must have a satisfactory work record in their prior positions.
