St. Luke Health Services is Hiring an Accountant Near Oswego, NY
POSITIONÂ DESCRIPTION: Under direction of the Assistant Controller, performs journal entries, maintains bank reconciliations. Assist with monthly closing and account analysis. Assist with year-end and audit activities.
DUTIES ANDÂ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Close month end with journal entries, financial statements, and reconciliations.
- Reconcile Bank Statements and fixed assets monthly.
- Assist Accounts Payable Clerk on an as needed basis.
- Assist Business Office Manager with annual cost report preparation and annual audit activities.
- Complete quarterly sales tax filing.
- Work with collection attorney on an as needed basis.
- Completes union dues report to be submitted monthly.
- Completes union pension report to be submitted monthly.
- Reviews pharmacy invoices for accuracy.
- Performs a variety of general clerical duties, including mail distribution and other routine functions.
- Track and reconcile petty cash.
- Other related duties that may become necessary or as directed by the Assistant Controller or Business Office Manager.
- Must be available to work more than eight (8) hours per day or more than forty (40) hours per week.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree in business or accounting with three to five years accounting experience preferably in a healthcare setting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
- Organizing skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
