Job SummaryService of food and/or beverage to include the order-taking and delivery of any food and/or beverage items. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction.
Essential Job FunctionsThis description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications. The job description is not intended to include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future. The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.
MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
  • Some previous bartending experience preferred
  • Previous cashiering experience essential
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat
  • Ensure all details are followed according to supervisor's instructions while providing guests with the finest quality of service at all times in a warm and friendly manner
  • Ensure the work area is maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition
  • All equipment must be stored in the designated area
  • Communicate guest compliments/complaints to management
  • Notify supervisor of any broken or damaged equipment
  • Maintain Driftwood and resort standards of food, beverage, and quality guest service.
  • Must be able to pass "Responsible Beverage Service Training" per state of Missouri requirements
  • Check guest's identification to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages and be able to refuse to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age
  • Observe behavior of guests who are consuming alcoholic beverages, count number of drinks served, if needed notify supervisor or manager for assistance in "cutting off" the guest
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors
  • Able to complete statistical reports as required
  • Able to scrupulously follow all Driftwood and Margaritaville Lake Resort policies and procedures
  • Can complete projects and assignments thoroughly, professionally, and with care
  • Adjusts to high-pressure conditions and is open to change
  • Able to manage time well with minimal supervision
  • Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development
  • Conducts him\herself (acts and dresses with complete, clean uniform) professionally at all times; sets standards for all associates
  • Knowledge of all hotel departments and functions
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations
  • Must have exceptional mathematical and computer skills
  • High school education and relevant training and experience required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Minimum lifting/pulling of 40 pounds using proper lifting techniques
  • Anything over 40 pounds requires asking for assistance
  • Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity, continuous standing
  • Hearing, writing, typing
  • Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time – up to 8 hours
Age RequirementsMust be at least 21 years of age or older.
